In April of 1968 Signal Electric, Inc. was established by Bernell Guthmiller, La Verne Guthmiller, and Herb Sullivan for the purpose of specializing in the installation of traffic signals, highway lighting, and highway signage. The company's primary customers are the federal, state, city, and county, public works agencies. All of Signals' work is obtained through a competitive bidding process. Signal Electric's primary customers are located in Washington state.

At its inception, Signal Electric, Inc.'s first project was installing lighting for the City of Auburn. The next project was the signalization at Peasley Canyon for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Signal Electric, Inc. has grown into a multi-million dollar contracting operation.

We have completed numerous major multi-million dollar projects through-out the State of Washington, from the Seattle trolley system for Metro, camera ramp metering systems for the Washington State Department of Transportation, and video detection systems for signalization in the cities of Auburn and Kent.

The company office and warehouse is located in the Kent Valley. The location is 1001 3rd Avenue South, Kent WA 98032
